March accomplishments
It is amazing the changes that occur during one month. Charles has gone from being stationary to crawling and pulling to standing. He has started on solid foods, and he sounds like he says the word "hey." Charles is always happy and smiley. Such a darling!

Baptism
Charles was baptized a month ago. Wow! It is amazing how quickly time flies now. We had a house full of family for his special day--well, weekend, actually. Charles was so cute during the church service. We were up front, so he had a good view of Father Justin during the sermon. He watched so closely as if he was taking in every word. Father Justin used a silver "shell" to pour the water over Charles' head, so I was nervous about crying or messes, but Charles didn't make a sound. He was so, so good the entire day.

the Lorax
So while the Lorax is technically the second movie Charles has been to in the theater, it is actually the first he has watched--and he really watched it. He was fully interested in the movie. I thought I would get him in there and nurse him to keep him calm and quiet, but he did not want to nurse because that meant having to look away from the movie screen. He finally took a cat nap towards the end of the movie, but as soon as I put him back in his car seat and he woke up, he watched the pictures in the closing credits--pictures William called "very nice pictures." I hope my boys will continue to care a whole lot.

fast forward
It is amazing how quickly Charles is progressing. Today he started sitting up completely by himself without having to prop himself with his hand at all. Yesterday, he crawled over the the plastic picnic table in our den and looked as if he was ready to try to pull up--he pulled with his arms and his little bottom came off the floor. This morning, he eyed the bottom step to the kitchen. Oh, boy. He also started to drool heavily today and his nose started running. Tooth coming soon? I think so. He eats his oatmeal very well, and he loves sweet potatoes. However, he does not like peas, and he actually gagged when I gave him green beans today!
saying sorry
Charles and William were both sitting in my lap when William let his head within Charles' reach. Suddenly William hollered "Ow!" and started bawling, "He pulled my hair too much!" I told Charles to say "I'm sorry," and leaned him in to give William a kiss. Then Charles surprised me by reaching out his baby hand to place it on William's hand. He held on to his hand and looked at William with such concern over his crying that the sweetness of that loving display brought tears to my eyes. Six months old and showing that much sympathy.

brother's play date
Charles got to tag along on William's play date this afternoon. He seemed to enjoy himself! I kept him in his car seat for about half the time as he was propped on the counter listening to the mommies talk. When he got squirmy I took him and and let him play on the floor. He went right for the big boy toys and ended up at the track. He also got a couple of pug puppy kisses. He doesn't know he is only six months compared to the other boys' three and four years.
