Charles was born at 11:01 on Thursday, August 25, 2011. He was 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 20 inches long. He chose an exciting week to arrive! We had an earthquake on Tuesday the 23rd and Hurricane Irene hit us on Saturday the 27th. Not many babies get to come home to a hurricane party!
Daddy and Mommy got to the hospital at 9:00 am to have Mommy checked. Her water had not broken, but she was in labor and was admitted to the hospital. After slow dilation and a failed epidural (plus a quick power outage), Mommy finally got a second epidural that took. Yay! With her more relaxed, she dilated quickly and Charles made his appearance. Mommy immediately got to hold him. What a perfect little guy!
